Space Attack!!
The 2nd iteration of Stroke Fighter resulted in pretty much a totally new game. The original game had too much dead time and very limited meaningful actions for the player to take and I couldn’t think of any incremental changes that would help. Space Attack!! is two player game reminiscent of the classic Space Invaders. Each player deploys his “invaders” and can shoot down the opponents invaders. The player who can get his invaders across to the opponent’s side first wins.
Space Attack!! was written by Sidharth Kadian for professor Perlin’s graduate games course.

Galactic space invaders with no sound!
I’m happy to see our classes first 2 player game. Kudos.
I am encouraged by the beginnings of this turn based shooter/strategy. In its beginning stage, though, there is not much narrative and the game play does not immediately make up for it. It’s also not immediately obvious what the goal of the game is.
The shooting was frustratingly difficult. I would much rather shoot with the mouse than the unintuitive mapping of the arrow keys. On the subject, the spaceship cursor is annoyingly not centered.
Also, when I pressed enter for a new round nothing happened.

This is a cool game, I was having fun playing it all by myself.
I just think that for 2 players to be able to play it, there should be some time between the swapping, or a key stroke event to make sure that the new player is ready.

Thanks for the comments..
@alec: I had Space Invaders on my mind when I was doing this and it never occurred to me that it should be clear what those “invaders” are supposed to achieve.
I also noticed that aiming wasn’t accurate but I didn’t want the shooting to be as easy as just clicking on something to shoot it down. It would make the game too long, if you could always manage to shoot the other person down, so, I didn’t try to mess with the aiming too much.
And I was going to hide the mouse cursor… and also restart the game on pressing enter… I forgot
And I should really get some of the classic space invaders sounds to go with the game.
@Karan: Yes, swapping between players would be an issue. I imagined this game to run either over a network or on the Xbox, where each player has his own controller. I guess having to press a key to signal that the player is ready would be a good way make it work on a single computer.
