The Games for Learning Institute presents the Games for Learning track at the 9th annual Games for Change Festival at New York University on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Learn about the latest in games for learning from leading game researchers and developers as well as network and play games presented by various G4LI partners.
Special guest speakers include Arizona State University’s James Paul Gee, White House Senior Policy Analyst, Constance Steinkuehler, and the Creators of Portal and Portal 2, Valve Software. More speakers to be announced as we finalize the full lineup.
Often referred to as “the Sundance of Video Games”, the Games for Change Annual Festival is the biggest gaming event in New York City. It brings together leaders from government, corporations, philanthropy, civil society, media, academia and the gaming industry to explore the increasing real-world impact of digital games as an agent for social change.
As part of the G4C Festival, G4LI hosts one full day of programming with speakers from the areas of game research, game design and development, and educational assessment. The 2011 G4LI Day included a keynote talk by Gabe Newell, Founder and CEO of Valve Software, creator of Portal.
